The Kersten HyCut radio-controlled roadside mower with hybrid drive is a completely newly designed, remote-controlled rotary track mower. In particular, mowing embankments, slopes or hard-to-reach areas will now be child's play with this machine.
Both travel and blade drive are done by a full hybrid drive system. The basis of this are 2 x 3kW electric motors for the tracks and a 10kW electric motor for the cutting deck, powered by a 48V 35Ah battery pack. Power is provided by a generator powered by a 23hp B&S Vanguard gasoline engine, equipped to operate on slopes up to 50°/120%. The machine can drive without using its internal combustion engine. This is very useful when running low on gasoline when returning from slopes or when driving into or out of buildings or vans. Another important advantage: there is no mechanical link between the combustion engine and the mower deck or track drive!
The remote control of the Kersten HyCut is very user-friendly and also very light. Via two thumb levers, this machine can be controlled with the simplicity of a remote-controlled toy car. The Speed-control function allows you to automatically adjust the driving speed to the mowing conditions. Is the material to be mowed too high or overgrown? Then this system automatically reduces the driving speed. In this way, the machine is not overloaded and you avoid getting stuck. In addition, the machine returns to the preset speed as soon as the load returns to normal.
This machine can handle slopes as steep as 50°/120 %. With its extremely low center of gravity and wide track undercarriage, the machine is extremely stable. In addition, far fewer turning movements are required: the cutting pattern is the same in both directions of travel. This means less damage to the ground, with higher productivity.
The Kersten HyCut features a mower deck that mows the same way in both directions of travel. Turning on a slope is therefore not necessary. In this way, you go for increased effective mowing efficiency and less damage and marks on the ground. A few more pluses: the machine has working lights in both directions and you can infinitely adjust the driving and working speed from 0 to 7 km/h. Just as powerful, but cleaner than conventional engines!
The mower deck is equipped with two spindles, each equipped with two or four heavy-duty pendulum blades. The working width is 1,150 mm, with the cutting height adjustable between 50 and 180 mm or between 80 and 210 mm (depending on the blade configuration). You have a choice of different types of blades to suit the mowing conditions.
The machine is equipped with the Vario-cut blade speed system as standard. Briefly explained: if the speed of the cutting blades drops too far as a result of excessive load (e.g. with locally rough vegetation), the driving speed will be automatically reduced. As soon as the blade speed returns to normal, the travel speed returns to the initially set value. The result? A smoother cutting pattern and lower fuel consumption.
Thanks to 150 mm wide rubber tracks, available in different designs, traction is more than assured. The track mower has a safety brake, so the machine remains safely stationary on a slope in case of an emergency or when not mowing. The chain tensioning system requires no tools, allowing you to smoothly adjust the tension on the tracks at all times.
The machine comes standard with a data subscription. All available data such as operating temperature, power failures, voltages, speeds, number of working hours ... are transmitted to Kersten via GPS. If one of these parameters shows serious deviations, the service department of Kersten or importer Pivabo will contact the user to prevent further damage.
