Rentland recovers stolen machine itself from Poland

 "Friday afternoon, word came in that two of our top machines had disappeared: a 2.5-ton Bobcat compact track loader and a 2.5-ton mini-excavator on. An internal investigation revealed that the machines were in Poland. We immediately filed a complaint with the police. When it turned out that we had an address, we didn't hesitate for a second." says Pascal Ameloot, CEO of Huurland. 

Exciting chase 

Together with a colleague, who also already had contacts with the Polish authorities through-via, he immediately got into the car heading for Poland on Friday afternoon. "When we got there, the Polish police were already fully informed," he said. The Huurland machines are equipped with their own track-and-trace system. Determining the machine's location was not in itself so difficult. It just took a lot of effort to locate the machine. The perpetrators had moved the tracked loader several times in the meantime. "It was especially exciting," says Pascal. "The Polish police pulled out all the stops to help us. I even had a chase in the police car on it. We trapped the fugitive's car". In the end, they were able to clock the perpetrators and confiscate the track loader. 

International cooperation 

"Thanks to the good cooperation between our authorities and the Polish police, and the help we received from friends on the ground, we already found one of our machines" he continued. "We always apply the utmost precaution. Our database anticipates all possible pitfalls against such actions. That it did go wrong this time is an eye-opener. We are going to build in even stricter measures. I don't want to experience this a second time".
