Weed sprayer on bottle cart
The RIPAGREEN kit guarantees safe, efficient and comfortable weed control.

Weed sprayer on bottle cart

A few years ago, the French manufacturer Ripagreen presented a weed sprayer with an innovative thermal hand lance in terms of safety, efficiency and ergonomics. The RIPAGREEN® solution guarantees speed, comfort and efficiency for all work in thermal weed control.

Ripagreen is a division of Ripack, a company that has been a leader in the world of gas-fired hot air guns for more than forty years, and in various sectors. Thanks to the patented "cold lance technology" that draws oxygen from the back, the flames are very short and directed. Because the flame does not make contact with the burner head, the heating of the head is low. In this way, the risk of burning from contact is avoided. The speed and comfort are also made possible by the "Click & Start" ignition, the large autonomy of six hours per gas bottle, and the double-safety detonator.

The bottle trolley is very compact and adjustable to three different heights.

Divisible thermal lance

Thanks to the start-stop mechanism built into the pistol grip, the lance pistol grip provides immediate savings in gas usage. Squeezing the pistol grip starts both the gas supply and the ignition. As soon as the user releases the grip, the gas supply is stopped and the burner immediately extinguishes.

A piezo igniter, mounted in the pistol grip, provides the ignition. This igniter is good for 40,000 to 50,000 clicks (start-up phases).

Fed by a gas cylinder filled with propane, the machine operates at an adjustable pressure between 1.5 and 2.5 bar. The technique used creates a short flame base, which triggers a pulsating hot air stream. In this way, a temperature of 250 to 450° C is developed with the lance at a distance of 30 to 60 centimeters from the ground, and this over a working width of about 40 centimeters. Even when the lance is used as a hand-held torch, working comfort remains optimal. This is due in part to the low weight - less than two kilograms - and the adjustable position of the handle. The burner head and tube can be rotated 360° to allow highly targeted work under all conditions and in the narrowest areas.

The thermal lance is made up of three parts. The long lance, with a length of 161 centimeters, is useful when the machine is used as a hand burner or push burner. By shortening the lance to 135 centimeters, it has the ideal length to be combined with the ergonomic carrying harness, when operating the lance with one hand.

The release valve is protected by a double safety valve. This regulates and controls the gas flow rate and automatically shuts off the gas supply in case of pressure differences due to, among other things, a damaged gas hose or insufficient pressure on the gas cylinder.

Compact bottle cart

The RIPAGREEN® bottle cart accommodates upright 13 kilogram propane (or LPG) gas cylinders and the necessary safety equipment. It is very compact and takes up little space during transport to and from the workplace. The bottle trolley's handle is adjustable to three different heights, making it comfortable for small and taller operators. The handle can also be reversed, so that the bottle trolley can not only be pushed, but also pulled.

The bottle cart accommodates a gas bottle, thermal lance, gas hose and any fire extinguisher. Its limited width of 55 centimeters allows it to pass even in very narrow passages.

In corners

Due to its specific shape, the thermal lance hooks onto the handle and can be worked "while pushing". Moreover, the lance can be moved from left to right to also treat weeds in corners and against walls over long distances effortlessly.

Thanks to its tubular steel frame, the robust bottle trolley is very light. Weighing just 12.5 kilograms, it can be easily moved by anyone, even complete with gas bottle and work equipment. A parking brake secures the machine on slopes.

Ergonomic carrying harness

The back-worn harness is a solution for terrains that are difficult to traverse. The carrying harness is designed to carry a small gas cylinder (5 kilograms capacity). In this way, one can work without a bottle cart. A protective cover for the gas cylinder is included. By using the thermal lance in combination with the carrying harness as well as the bottle trolley, it becomes possible to treat larger areas faster and more efficiently, since the lance can be operated with one hand.
