Cools BVBA specializes in swimming ponds and the associated landscaping. Throughout the Benelux, this family business is responsible for the construction of beautiful swimming ponds and the surrounding greenery. For them, digging and leveling is part of their daily routine. But even for those who prefer to outsource the technical realization of a swimming pond, it can be worthwhile to keep the preparatory groundwork and excavation work in-house. Provided, that is, that you can carry out the work quickly and efficiently with your own machinery.
The versatility of the 100% Belgian Knikmops articulated loaders is now perhaps as well known as their striking yellow color. With an extensive range of hydraulically powered attachments, the machines can be used for mowing, brushing, digging, milling, leveling, transporting, and much more. Adding a new application to your activities therefore requires only a minor intervention and a similarly minor investment.
This is one of the reasons why the compact KM130 is already a staple in the machine parks of many landscaping contractors, but with the KM140, Gebroeders Geens NV is giving landscapers an extra boost. Although the brand-new model is barely 10 centimeters longer, thanks to an extra-strong lifting cylinder, it has a maximum lifting force of 1,600 kilograms (instead of 1,260) and a working hydraulic flow of 48 liters per minute (instead of 42). This makes the KM140 suitable for heavier attachments and capable of moving more work – or soil – in less time. The stronger lifting device is also useful for lifting loads from a deeper level. The high lifting force in relation to its own weight is therefore one of the main reasons why Cools BVBA chose Knikmops.
The compactness of the articulated loader is also considered a particular advantage by the landscaping company, further enhancing its optimal usability. With a maximum width of 135 centimeters and a curb weight of 1,600 kilograms, the KM140 can also be easily transported in a trailer.

However, compactness is no longer a given in 2021. Stage V diesel engines, now mandatory for machines in the 19kW class and above, are larger and more complex than their predecessors, with the particulate filter being – literally – the biggest bottleneck. For the KM140, Gebroeders Geens NV therefore deliberately selected a modified Yanmar engine, which allows the large diesel particulate filter to be neatly integrated into the compact steel chassis.
Anyone who fears that the new Stage V engines will simply require more care and maintenance will be pleasantly surprised by the Yanmar 3TNV88C. Naturally, the engine produces fewer emissions and less noise pollution, but it does not require AdBlue to do so, and under normal use, the regeneration of the particulate filter is fully automatic. Only during prolonged idling may manual intervention be required, but even then, the display guides you quickly through the procedure. This means that even this latest addition to the Knikmops family remains easy to operate for everyone.
