Mowing at solid angle

Therefore, when manufacturers expand their range to include teleguided implements for safety and flexibility, the challenge is to translate that same simplicity into remote control.

Sometimes a brand stands for a particular product in such a way that novelties and innovations do not always make it into the spotlight. This is also how it still happens regularly with Agria. The German brand has been known for its tillage machines for more than half a century, but now offers a complete arsenal of garden and park machinery in different price categories.

"Ease of operation is paramount in all these products," says Marco Luyten of exclusive Belgian distributor Van Haute Landbouwmachines - a company that, despite what its name might suggest, has also long since ceased to focus on the agricultural sector alone. "You notice that, among other things, in the quick couplings with which small implement carriers are converted from mower to mulcher or snowplow in no time, or in the hyper-precise hydrostatic drive of the large motocultivators. But also Agria's latest innovation, a tracked teleguided roadside mower, garden contractors and green services will no doubt quickly master it."

Targeted mowing

With the Agria 9500, there was already a tele-guided roadside mower from the German manufacturer on the market, but the new Agria 9600 goes a remarkable step further. Indeed, while the 9500 was suitable for slopes up to a maximum of 45°, the new model mows on slopes up to 55° without any problems. "To this end, several adjustments were made last year to the chassis and weight distribution, among others," Luyten knows. "The most decisive thing, of course, is the center of gravity. That is so low on this machine that it will not tip over even on steep slopes."

In addition, the mowing result is the same in both forward and backward directions, requiring fewer maneuvers along the entire line. The work is thus completed faster and the ground is not unnecessarily stirred.

Simple on site

For the operator, the expansion of the work area again means more flexibility and safety. "Even from a safe distance, you have full control of the machine. You can of course mow and adjust the speed, but also correct the angle of inclination, for example. In addition, the mower is equipped with sensors to avoid overloading and can be equipped with GPS. Not that you need to be an IT guy for that, mind you. Everything is controlled via a simple remote control with a joystick and some push buttons. This is no different in use than the operation of a classic ride-on mower."

With an overall width of 145 centimeters (working width 112) and a weight of 638 kilograms, the mower is fully suitable for transport on a classic trailer. "A B driving license is sufficient to transport the machine," said Luyten. "Green services or companies therefore do not have to look for just that person in their workforce with driving license BE or higher."

Agria not only produces tillage equipment, but also various garden and park machinery.

Powerful motors

For propulsion, the Agria 9600 uses an electric fraction drive combined with a powerful two-cylinder gasoline engine. "Like all other Agria implements, the 9600 meets all emission standards. This also applies to the diesel-powered machines, which, by the way, are always more powerful than they appear on paper thanks to the excellent transmission transmission."
