The company D. B. van der Horst has been the exclusive distributor of Tielbürger machines in France and the Benelux countries for decades. For several years, the company has noticed an increasing sales of weed brushes. The machine is increasingly becoming part of the standard equipment of the greenkeeper or gardener.
The days of chemical weed control are quietly numbered. Influenced by stricter legislation on the one hand, including the European ban on glyphosate, and the ubiquitous pursuit of a greener image on the other, both clients and garden contractors are looking for a more sustainable alternative. They usually find this in weed brushing machines, which cut the weeds from the root using steel or plastic brushes, thereby making the area immediately weed-free. A double advantage: you don't have to wait for the plant to die and the environment is spared.
However, weeds do not decay. Even after treatment with a weed brush, it will grow again. Therefore, for long-lasting results, the key is to not give new sprouts time to take root. Regular maintenance - up to once a week depending on the type of weeds - is essential. If you invest in a weed brush, it is best to choose one that can do the job quickly and easily.
Regular brushing is essential. Therefore, when choosing a weed brush machine, ease of use is a priority.
Rolling the weed brush off the trailer and getting straight to work is what the garden contractor expects from his machine. But also while working, everything should run as smoothly as possible, without unnecessary actions. This is no problem with the Tielbürger weed brushes. For example, the track width of these machines is narrower than the working width, allowing the machine to run directly along the wall, without having to turn the brush first. In addition, the TW50S and TW50X models come standard with a folding steel guard. This not only ensures safety, but can be folded sideways when needed. The protective hood no longer needs to be removed and set aside, but remains in the folded position in one operation.
The most annoying delay, of course, is that caused by breakdowns. Traditionally, the most sensitive part is the V-belt, and burning out is a known problem with many weed brushes. However, by using a large pulley at the front of the machine and covering everything with a protective cover, Tielbürger manages to circumvent this problem. Dirt and friction have no chance in the TW50 series.
What cannot be ruled out, however, is the wearing out of the steel brushes. By using a height-adjustable support wheel - an asset of the TW50X - you may be able to limit excessive pressure on the brushes, but eventually replacement is always necessary. To make even that operation as smooth as possible, the Tielbürger machines are equipped with a quick coupling system. This allows the steel brushes - each separately, or all together - to be replaced by a simple turn of the knob, and thus without tools.
Finally, using a weed brush should also not put unnecessary strain on the body. A height-adjustable handlebar is the bare minimum for this, but it doesn't stop there. For example, the wheels of the TW50S can be set rigid for brushing straight stretches, and the three-speed wheel drive of the TW50X simplifies work on slopes.
