Shredding on the golf course
If soil clods from flower roots, or some gravel gets into the machine when clearing hedge clippings on a dolomite path, this is no problem at all.

Shredding on the golf course

During the fall season, it is important for garden professionals to prepare for the pruning that autumn brings. Hedges and shrubs that ran rampant for several months must now be returned to their basic shape. Borders must be thinned out, and once the sap streams recede, the trees will also come into play. In short, it will be another busy week for hedge trimmers and tree saws.

Golf clubs have a large acreage to maintain. From their passion for grass, the lion's share of greenkeepers' attention goes to the lawn. However, a golf course only acquires real character when the sloping grass areas are harmoniously interspersed with ponds, bushes and green screens of various shrubs and ornamental grasses. As a result, the reel mowers must give way to the pruning shears in the fall.

Greenkeepers are confronted with a large amount of green waste after their pruning work. The question of what to do with this trimmings always arises. Taking the trimmings to a central pile is very time-consuming, puts an extra burden on the greenkeepers, and only moves the problem instead of solving it.

The chippings can be incorporated into borders and green areas without any problem, as it suppresses weed growth.

Four-season chipper

For golf courses, on-site chipping is the best alternative. After all, the chippings can be incorporated into the borders and green areas without any problems, as this suppresses weed growth. In addition, this encourages biodiversity and provides better soil drainage. Due to the variety of plantings, the pruning waste is also quite diverse. For golf courses, it is advisable to choose a shredder that can handle this variety of trimmings. ELIET recently developed a modified version of the Mega Prof chipper, especially for golf clubs.

ELIET chippers have a special chipping system that cuts the trimmings in the fiber direction. This method of cutting is extremely economical for the machine's power. In addition to wood, the ELIET shredding system can deal particularly well with all other types of green waste. If, for example, soil clods from flower roots, or some gravel ends up in the machine when clearing hedge clippings on a dolomite path, this is no problem at all.

The high chopping frequency (50,000 cutting movements/min.) of the Mega Prof chipper also ensures that the fine chippings are also intensively crushed, giving them optimum composting properties. Also as mulch between plantings, these chips form an airy insulation layer.

With a soil pressure of only 0.4 kg/cm², the greenkeeper need not worry about spore formation.

Powerful, ecological and innovative

With its powerful 33 hp Kubota turbo diesel, the ELIET Mega Prof has a capacity for branches up to 15 cm thick. The wide feed hopper and the large feed roller are ideally suited for the smooth feeding of all kinds of pruning waste. The LED-lit push buttons integrated into the hopper edge make operation clear and simple.

The ELIET Mega Prof is the only chipper equipped as standard with an innovative Eco EyeTM system. This system causes the chipper to autonomously switch its engine to idle as soon as the machine is no longer actively chipping. An infrared sensor monitors the feed zone to immediately switch the engine back to full throttle as soon as the operator reintroduces trimmings into the hopper. This greatly reduces the overall noise level and saves some 200 liters of fuel per year.

The Mega Prof is equipped with four LED work lights as standard. This makes it possible for the greenkeeper to shred in complete safety even after the hours of play when evening falls early in the fall.

Customized to the golf course

The Mega Prof has a low net weight, because at just 750 kg any microtractor or universal UTV can pull this chipper without any problems. In the special wave version, the machine is equipped as standard with an overrun brake and with extra-wide lawn tires. With a ground pressure of only 0.4 kg/cm², the greenkeeper does not have to worry about rutting.

The Mega Prof also scores in the workshop. Its clever design makes it possible to dismantle the entire machine without the use of tools and in less than 30 seconds. Maintenance of the chipper is also very simple and can be done in-house. In this way, the operational cost of this machine remains at an absolute minimum. For golf clubs, this chipper is highly recommended.
