TOTAL OFFER IN OUTDOOR LANDSCAPING FOR THE PROFESSIONAL

In May 2022, Doms, the Brussegem-based wholesaler of gates, fences and steel wire, was acquired by Buildmat business group. With this acquisition, Buildmat is further expanding its network of successful companies in construction and industry. What assets does this synergy bring to the construction and garden professional? Jo Verfaellie, managing director of the group, explains. 

Doms was founded in 1988 by Serge Doms. From the start, this company experienced strong growth. In recent decades, Doms, based in Brussegem in Flemish Brabant, has grown into a specialized wholesaler of fences, gates and steel wire.

"To ensure continuity for his customers, staff and suppliers and to sustain Doms' strong growth in a rapidly changing market, Serge Doms chose to transfer his business to Buildmat," confirms Jo Verfaellie. "In May 2022, we completed the acquisition talks. Serge and his team remain active within the group so that we can continue to maximize their valuable experience and expertise for our customers. In the meantime, we have already taken the necessary steps to secure that knowledge."

Broadening and specialization

To say that the Buildmat Group is an ambitious and dynamic organization is an understatement. 

"Based on our mission to put customer focus, innovation and digitalization at the heart of our product and service offerings, we aim for healthy growth through targeted acquisitions. This gives us the opportunity to go for both broadening and specialization, targeting specific segments. For each of our operating companies, we are investing heavily in a streamlined logistics and supply process and a customer-friendly website and web shop."

Complementary product offerings

With the acquisition of Doms - and accompanying name change to Domspro - Buildmat is now also targeting construction and garden professionals, with a broad product range for outdoor landscaping. 

Says Jo Verfaellie, "These solutions fit perfectly with those offered by the other operating companies in our Buildmat group. For example, there is Deschacht in Oostakker, which has been distributing building products for more than fifty years, including materials for sewerage, drainage, roof, facade and insulation. With Foylo in Antwerp, we supply films, packaging and tarpaulins. ODM, headquartered in Grâce-Hollogne, distributes the full range of MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operations) products. Thanks to Technicel in Westerlo, we are strong in high-quality, innovative system solutions for the flooring contractor. Through Collinet we are active in the field of water technology. And with LSDRAIN, we offer our customers aluminum tile and clinker covers and drainage systems."

Investing in growth Domspro

In 2023, the Buildmat group is sparing no expense to make Domspro an even stronger presence in the market. 

"Naturally, we continue to invest in new, innovative products for outdoor landscaping," indicates Jo Verfaellie. "From fences to terraces and from gates to steel wire: customers can always count on us for sustainable, recyclable and low-maintenance solutions. For this, by the way, we call on a pool of loyal product partners. This wide range will soon be on display on our brand new Domspro website, allowing our customers to easily view and order the products they want."
