Standard line paint is usually water-based and contains added powder pigments, such as titanium dioxide. Because these pigments are heavier than water, they sink down by gravity. This natural settling process manifests itself on two levels. On the one hand, the pigments sink to the bottom in the canister, creating a goo at the bottom. On the other hand, the paint also sinks down from the blades of grass, causing the line to lose bright whiteness during drying. 

The settling process creates a host of other problems. For example, it requires more time and effort to prepare the paint, and there is a greater chance of clogging filters and spray nozzles. Standard paint also does not have a long shelf life, as sedimentation and clumps occur after only a few weeks. And perhaps most annoying of all, that precious grass on which the lines are applied dies off by the end of the season.

The solution: performance paint

For all these problems, Expo-Line offers a solution. The company developed a technology 23 years ago that keeps the composition of line paint stable both in the canister and in the field. The unique formula ensures that pigments remain homogeneous and stable even when the paint sits in a sealed canister for two years. This paint is ultra fast-drying (5 to 10 minutes) and super rain-resistant: ideal for fall and winter conditions. What they all have in common? A consumption of only three liters per field, and they are biodegradable. This makes Performance paint very economical and also environmentally friendly.
