Small company, great deeds

Groundsmen and greenkeepers at the very highest level

Fert In Time Europe is an international player in the world of innovative soil nutrients. Through its broad European distribution network, it helps its users achieve the highest quality soils. These include horticulture, agriculture and recreation. Fert In Time Europe's services are centrally managed from Brussels, with regional expert distributors in Europe. For example, they operate in Benelux, France, Germany and Poland.

Philippe Debougnoux, manager of Fert In Time Europe: "We are actually mainly active in the recreational sector, and mainly golf courses and fields of first and second division soccer teams.

We can perform at a very high level of quality. In fact, our soil improvers have some patented molecules that others cannot offer. With that, you get very different results at the level of quality, in short, a better turf."

On trip to Tottenham Hotspur's Enfield stadium and training center, to spend a lot of time with the respective groundsmen.

Tutoring in the UK

"Of course, the result also depends very much on the team working on those turf surfaces. Together with the greenkeepers (golf courses) and/or groundsmen (soccer fields), we play at the very highest level with Fert In Time.

For that, we regularly go to learn in the United Kingdom, the undisputed "land of the peat. We have also been fortunate to gain the trust of top brand Indigrow, the third largest producer of wetting agents in the world, with whom we have been working for many years now. British Indigrow specializes in the production of fertilizers and nutrients for sports fields, with more than 75 years of global experience.

The market leader in the UK and Scandinavia sets downright exceptional standards for its product development of fertilizers, bio-stimulants and other products for the professional sports turf, agriculture and horticulture markets. Its ongoing product development delivers innovative, more efficient, cost-effective products to meet the needs of the most demanding conditions around the world. For these products, we naturally received the necessary approvals from the Federal Public Health Service to market them in Belgium."

We really have no choice but to work with soil conditioners and humidifiers to more efficiently use available water for vegetation

Not only curative, but certainly (also) preventive

"Everyone knows by now that the climate is changing, resulting in more and more extreme weather events. We really have no choice but to work with soil conditioners and wetting agents to use the available water more efficiently for vegetation. Soil hydrology and structure are thus becoming increasingly important. A soil in top condition ensures that the plants growing on it suffer fewer diseases." "In Europe, meanwhile, there are very strict environmental regulations. As a result, the focus is now hard on better immunity of plants. So now we can no longer, like ten to twenty years ago, only work curatively - cure plants when they are sick. No, we are obliged to work with bio-stimulants to make plants stronger. So working preventively, instead of just curatively. That's quite a switch. Fert In Time Europe is the only company in Belgium that is allowed to work with cold-pressed seaweed extract as a bio-stimulant. The pure extract, so not mixed with all kinds of fertilizers."

In the United Kingdom, in terms of sports field maintenance, we are entering a whole new world.

Tottenham Hotspur

"As a perfectionist, I am only satisfied with the absolute best in my field. And I had promised to my loyal customers to take them into the world of soil conditioners and share my knowledge.

So I took them to the UK. Because as you know, that's where the masters of grass are. Wimbledon, for example, is the only top competition in tennis on grass. We went on a field trip to Tottenham Hotspur's Enfield stadium and training center to spend a lot of time with the respective groundsmen. There you enter a different world in terms of sports field maintenance. The budgets there are not at all comparable to here. So you had better try to take as much as possible from the absolute best in the world and apply it here. This is the only way to achieve the very best results," Philippe Debougnoux concludes.
