Irrigation is an art. Not only must the various plantings receive an appropriate amount of water at the right regularity, all this ideally happens without the user or owner noticing anything. For this reason, irrigation specialist VBS Irrigation Systems is launching a dark brown, pressure-compensated drip hose, perfectly tailored to our local conditions.

Plants and crops grow better with a regular supply of moisture. Whereas in the past irrigation was mainly considered a matter for parks, sports grounds and large gardens, the ever-increasing drought problem means that private individuals are also increasingly seeking refuge in an irrigation system. In addition to sprinklers for the lawn, (above-ground) drip hoses for shrub areas and plant beds are therefore on the rise.
Because of the ongoing drought problem, not only city governments, but also more and more private individuals are seeking refuge in irrigation systems.
With an above-ground drip line, the water is silently transported close to the roots of plants, shrubs and small trees. Through constant dripping, the crops are thus uniformly and extremely efficiently supplied with the required water. Because the water supply occurs almost entirely in the shade of the plant, evaporation is also reduced to an absolute minimum. This means that up to 55% can be saved on watering.
The hose features drippers every 33 cm, each good for a water output of 2.1 l/h.
The new pressure-compensated hose from VBS Irrigation Systems is suitable for operating pressures between 1 and 4 bar, resists changes in resistance, elevation and pump pressure well, and provides a constant water delivery rate of about 2.1 l/h per dispensing point.
Moreover, thanks to the drop stop, all plants are irrigated completely equally. This is because the system remains closed until the entire hose is filled with water and an even pressure of at least 1 bar is built up. Only then are the drippers - which are fitted every 33 cm - open simultaneously along the entire length. If the accumulated pressure exceeds 4 bar, or falls below 1 bar, the system also closes in one go along its entire length, without any pre-pressurization or dripping.
With the dark brown drip hose, VBS Irrigation Systems has the perfect alternative for Belgian soil.
Unlike the classic black and rust brown drip hoses, originally developed for the Northern and Southern European markets respectively, the VBS drip hose was given a dark brown color. This feature is unique and visually perfectly matched to our local soils, allowing the drip hose to be placed almost invisibly among the bush. This makes irrigation in our areas more inconspicuous than ever.
The VBS drip tube has a wall thickness of 1.1 mm and is extremely resistant to UV radiation, chemicals and algae. The copper plates provided at the level of each dripper ensure that even roots do not force their way into the drip line.
To avoid long-term contamination and clogging of the hose, it is further recommended to equip the system with a 130 micron pre-filter.
For optimum visual comfort, the drip hose can be placed almost invisibly among the shrubbery.
The new pressure-compensated, dark brown drip hoses are well in stock and available immediately in 100-meter rolls. Various fittings can be used to combine different lengths, although it is recommended that the irrigation system be limited to a maximum distance of 100 meters from the water release point.
The frequency and duration of irrigation can be controlled either manually or via a timer or rain computer - whether or not combined with a rain sensor. By equipping the system with a WiFi or Bluetooth module, you and your customer can even access
via smartphone.
