Garden lighting is getting smarter

A beautifully lit outdoor space creates atmosphere, safety and, above all, more enjoyment. Thanks to the introduction of 12-volt LED outdoor lighting, the lamps are safer and also easy to install, but the developments do not stop there. Lightpro is an excellent example of the smart garden lighting of today and tomorrow.

The high-end brand for the professional owes its success to its high-quality 12-volt lighting that manages to combine power, safety and innovation. The Hengelo-based company's wall lights, floor lamps, spot uplights and deck lights are largely dimmable and allow any desired garden element to be highlighted. Wendy Beukers is manager of marketing and communications at Techmar and explains how developments are certainly not standing still.

Ease of installation

"For us, ease of use and safety have always been incredibly important. This is reflected in our choice of low voltage. As a result, no specialist electronic knowledge is required during installation and a landscaper can install the lighting himself." Thanks to the award-winning female connector, all necessary lighting is easily connected. Branches are made with the male connector. "The low voltage is not only safe during installation, but also afterwards, if there are dogs or playing children in the garden, for example."

This Tiga downlighter itself is barely visible, the effect all the more striking.

Smarter, smarter, smartest

But technology does not stand still: two years ago, the Lightpro Switch gave the go-ahead for SMART. The Lightpro Switch is an app-controlled smart accessory that is simply added to a new or existing Lightpro system. Smart lighting at Lightpro has undergone considerable development, and this year the brand is launching the first products of a completely new smart line. The lights work on the Zigbee platform where they can be integrated with other Zigbee-controlled products, but also think about connecting to motion detectors or a security camera. "The lamps can take on any color and are dimmable, so they offer the right light for every garden. Subtle light in the right place leaves a garden and nature at their best; that's smart, too."

The lamps of the Eros line: designed to stand out.

Inconspicuously striking

Wendy Beukers sees, in addition to smarter technology, more attention to the appearance of the lamps. Sometimes inconspicuous, sometimes lamps that should be seen. For those who want to see the paths but not the lamps, there is the Tiga downlighter.

The inconspicuous lights are stabbed along the path or hung on the wall and blend in completely with the surroundings. The triangular Tiga corner is ideal for mounting under porches or in decking.

The lamps in the Eros line, on the other hand, are designed precisely to stand out. "Thanks to the spiral, the filament light sources have the appearance of an industrial light bulb and are completely in line with the industrial trend. Beautiful in combination with corten steel planters, for example. So much more can be done than people often think, and the end of the developments is nowhere near."
