Really get everything out of your wheel loader
Proper driver training leads to a longer life of the wheel loader.

Really get the most out of your wheel loader

The wheel loader is the workhorse of the garden and green space professional. More and more tasks and activities in landscaping and maintenance are performed or at least supported with it. An evolution that increases not only the comfort of the user, but also the efficiency and thus profitability of the company as a whole.

There are several reasons why the wheel loader is such a popular tool with garden contractors as well as urban and municipal green services. Consider the maneuverability and ability to maneuver through narrow spaces and passages, due in part to the articulated steering in the center of the machine. But above all, the enormous range of attachments and accessories plays a central role. After all, this makes it possible with the same machine to move soil and materials as well as dig, level, brush and even cut grass.

Employer required to provide information and training

In the Codex Welfare Law - which anyone working with employees and/or trainees must comply with - wheel loaders fall under mobile work equipment. This means that the driver performs a safety function and, consequently, the employer is obliged to provide this driver with the necessary information and training.

The wheel loader is the workhorse of the garden and green space professional.

Training required

Yet practical training is not merely about obligation. Operating a wheel loader is not without risk. If one learns to work safely with this machine, the number of accidents at work will decrease and the machine itself will suffer less damage. In other words, good driver training also leads to a longer life of the wheel loader.

One-day training, five-year certificate of competence

For appropriate training, employers can contact the PCLT. The PCLT is a recognized training institute and organizes targeted practical training courses to promote safe working with wheel loaders. Such training basically takes one day, combines theory and practice, and is suitable for both experienced and less experienced operators. Based on a continuous evaluation, participants who are deemed competent receive a certificate of competence at the end with a validity of five years. Afterwards, a short refresher course is sufficient.

Training with modern machinery

Since wheel loaders are in full (r)evolution, the PCLT makes the latest machines available during training courses. This way, trainees can always work with the most advanced wheel loaders.

Practical
The next Wheel Loader trainings will take place on January 18 and March 2, 2023. In addition, there is always the possibility to request a training tailored to your company and on a date of your choice. The trainings are eligible for various discount opportunities, including the SME portfolio.
