The great extent and remarkable speed with which new swimming pools have been constructed in the past two years would almost suggest that building owners make the decision on a whim. Nothing could be further from the truth, however. Not only the investment involved in constructing a pool, but also the visual impact of the structure on the garden, require a thoughtful approach. And then it's good that both you and your client can form a clear picture of the result beforehand.
Sealtec has been active for more than twenty years as a supplier of waterproofing films for swimming pools, swimming ponds, buffer basins and irrigation basins. During that period, manager Stijn Frooninckx regularly noticed how difficult it is, especially for private individuals, to properly assess the impact of a swimming pool on their garden. Even when the garden architect provides beautiful plans, sketches and even renders, certain matters still seem to escape the eye of the client. Today, the company wants to get around this shortcoming, specifically through a free AR app for pool builders, garden contractors and private individuals.
AR stands for Augmented Reality, which means as much as enriching reality with digital images. Not afterwards in a static image like a render, but in real time and in a fully dynamic way.
By pointing the camera of a smartphone or tablet at the garden and then indicating where the pool - or swimming pond - should be located and what dimensions it should have, the builder thus gets an extremely realistic picture of the impact of his decisions on the garden. More, by walking around with the smartphone or tablet, that impact can immediately be viewed and assessed from all angles and from any distance.
That it is not only the shape, size and location of a swimming pool that determine the final appearance, but also the color of the waterproofing film, is an obvious fact for a specialist like Sealtec, but unfortunately other parties are still too little aware of it. This is why the choice of film is included as an essential step in the app, where both the result with and without water can be shown. In combination with the complete sample folder that Sealtec puts at the disposal of its partners, an extremely well-considered decision can thus be made in this area as well.
Is everyone convinced of the result? Then you can even contact Sealtec directly via the app for further information and technical support.
Both in the app and in the samples folder you will find all films in the Sealtec range. These are all durable TPO films from top brands Sika and AGRU, each available in various colors. A distinction is made between films based on polypropylene (PP) - particularly suitable for more natural environments such as swimming ponds - and films based on polyethylene (PE) - appropriate in pools with a chlorine load.
By the way, a new addition to the range is AGRU's extra-wide fPP film. With a width of 5.15 meters, it allows swimming ponds up to 5.2 meters wide to be realized without a center seam. Not only does this produce an extremely aesthetic result, but given the limited number of welds, it also provides an extra-reliable seal by definition.
