Free fitness in the park

Outdoor exercise and sports are hugely popular and will only become more popular. Many people want to be able to work out outside without having to buy an expensive subscription. This is now possible in Ghent's Blaarmeersen, in two professionally constructed circles of equipment.

Farys (City of Ghent) was asked to create a top location in the Blaarmeersen recreation area where they could offer the combination of Outdoor Fitness and StreetWorkOut with shade. LibraPlay was quickly approached because the requirements in terms of materials were very high. Not only did the equipment have to be vandal-proof and have adjustable weights, but it also had to be suitable for almost all age groups and be aesthetically pleasing.

LibraPlay pulled off the overall project with a combination of a Denfit professional Sportpoint, a Denfit StreetWorkOut custom apparatus and an Abribo SHADE shade canopy. All done in gray and lime green. 

Two circles were created and connected by a covered clinker path.

Young and old

In the first circle is a unique Denfit Professional, designed to bring the gym outside. It is a line of professional fitness equipment. The machines use adjustable weights, creating a wide variety of resistance. They appeal to young and old, and to the novice to the very experienced athlete and strength training enthusiast. Denfit Professional machines are suitable for various ways of training: getting fit, strength training, fitness, losing weight and staying fit. All muscle groups are trained. The circle contains nine dynamic devices, where different exercises per device are possible. This makes it possible to put together an equipment circle in which strength is perfectly alternated with cardio.

Moreover, Denfit Professional is very attractive as a social meeting place. In a society with increasing obesity, this is the ideal way to get people moving, in a casual way and pleasantly outdoors. 

Shadow

In the second circle are a StreetWorkOut, Calisthenics, BarBrothers and UrbanFitness Combination. Various names for the gymnastic way of training, where you work with your own body weight as resistance in combination with minimal equipment (bars), with the goal of building a powerful and agile body.

The impressive shade construction with a special breathable fabric completes the project and makes the overall project very attractive and inviting for sports.
