Meet the Benelux Natural Stone Association

This association groups all companies active in the natural stone sector in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. From quarries and importers to processors and placers. We are pleased to introduce the BNSA to you. 

The BNSA serves the entire natural stone sector in Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. 

Febenat (Benelux Federation of Natural Stone Importers and Wholesalers), Union of Marble Quarries and Sawmills of Belgium, Federation of Belgian Bluestone and Federation of Natural Stone Processors unite and form the three chambers of the BNSA. Thus, there is a chamber for the quarries, one for the importers of natural stone and one for its processors and placers. All chambers are equally represented on the board of the BNSA. Stijn Renier of Renier Natuursteen & Carrières de la Préalle is the new president. Isabel Gruwez remains the coordinator, as before at Febenat. The collaboration aims to promote natural stone and increase its broad knowledge. Among other things, the BNSA will therefore establish a network platform in which all players within the Benelux natural stone industry can participate. 

The BNSA carries out targeted actions to architects, building owners and construction professionals, as well as to the general public. Thus, the BNSA aims to stimulate interest in natural stone and improve knowledge about the material. Accordingly, the association is setting up several concrete actions, such as the annual BNSA Natural Stone Awards and training courses for architects and building professionals. In addition, the BNSA can also count on a number of existing initiatives. These include the publication of the former Febenat yearbook, which is being translated to the entire natural stone sector. There is the TruStone Initiative for more responsible production and purchase of natural stone from China and India, among others. 

Because an important goal of the BNSA is the support of the natural stone sector and its actors, the association also counts on existing technical support that includes declarations of performance, CE markings and technical sheets.
