Just earlier this year, GTM Professional introduced the compact GTS750 wood chipper for branch diameters up to 7 cm. Now the machine manufacturer is launching a heavier track-driven chipper for serious work. Equipped with twin Honda engines, the new 1800R braves rough and boggy terrain to get to the most challenging spots. Add to that its high capacity, compact design AND swiveling output, and the recipe for tree care professionals is complete. The self-propelled 1800R will be available from May 2022 through GTM Professional's extensive dealer network for an attractive price of €13,500 including VAT.
The development of a tracked wood chipper is not entirely new for Dutch manufacturer De Wild BV. The already existing 1300R series has also been running on it for years. With the addition of a Honda engine for both the chipper system and the tracked undercarriage, every desire and budget is met.
The tracked undercarriage of the new 1800R is powered by a powerful Honda GX160 engine and has three forward speeds and a reverse gear. The low and rigid undercarriage can handle slopes up to 20°, and because the width of the undercarriage is only 72 cm, you easily maneuver the machine through narrow passages. Loading and unloading into a bus or trailer is also a breeze with this control system.
The rotor shredding system with which GTM Professional has become great works quickly and efficiently as ever. Branches up to 12 cm in diameter (dry wood up to 10 cm) are automatically pulled in and effortlessly shredded into fine wood chips to give back to nature. The shredding system is powered by a 21 hp Honda GX630 V-twin engine and the three V-belts combine to provide a powerful transmission.
Certified by an independent testing institute, the 1800R meets the highest safety requirements, including the stringent forestry standard. The machine is equipped with a safety bar that, when pressed, immediately interrupts the engine in emergency situations. Safety switches on both input and output block the operation of the machine during maintenance.
To meet all the needs of the professional, the new 1800R comes standard with hour meter and a 270⁰ swiveling output. The deflector on the output is further adjustable up to 100⁰ so that the chips can be blown in any direction.
