For more than forty years, Redexim has been a leading supplier of machines for the maintenance of sports fields, golf courses and parks. The Dutch family business built its reputation with the Verti-Drain®, an aeration machine that has revolutionised turf management since its introduction in 1980. ‘The Verti-Drain® quickly became a household name among greenkeepers and groundskeepers worldwide,’ says Herman de Bree, who owns the company together with his sister Justine. ‘Today, we offer a complete range of machines that enable professionals to maintain natural and artificial turf optimally.’ .
What began in the late 1970s with a simple question – how to remove excess water from a sports field more efficiently – grew into an international success story. Redexim's range now includes more than a hundred different machines. For natural grass, these include aerators, overseeding machines, top dressers, scarifiers, brushes and leaf blowers. For artificial turf, the company has developed specific equipment for decompacting, cleaning, regenerating and even testing. For several years now, Redexim has also been producing machines for the maintenance of clay courts.
Owner Herman de Bree emphasises that ease of use and innovation are central to this. ‘We think along with our customers. For example, we have developed machines that can selectively overseed, saving sports clubs money on expensive grass seed. We also have solutions for hybrid sports fields, where natural and artificial turf reinforce each other to improve playing quality.’
Redexim's success is based on a network of loyal dealers. In Belgium and Luxembourg, the company has been working with Firma Thomas for many years. This family business from Merchtem is an exclusive importer and offers its customers – from local authorities to sports clubs – advice, service and follow-up. ‘Their expertise and market knowledge are invaluable,’ says de Bree. "The Firma Thomas team literally speaks the customer's language. They ensure that our machines are accompanied by excellent service. What's more, they provide valuable feedback from the field, which we can use to further refine our products."
Redexim also chooses strong partners in the Netherlands. Hilaire Van Der Haeghe has been the exclusive distributor there since the end of 2022. This Antwerp-based family business, with more than 125 years of experience and a strong dealer network, provides broad coverage in the Netherlands. ‘The Netherlands is our home turf,’ says De Bree. "We believe it is important that customers here receive the same service as elsewhere in the world. Thanks to Van Der Haeghe, we can make that happen. Their enthusiasm and professionalism make them an ideal partner."
With offices in the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia, and a dealer network in more than 100 countries, Redexim is now a global player. Nevertheless, its approach remains family-oriented and customer-focused. ‘We are constantly investing in new technologies,’ concludes de Bree. "Think of machines for hybrid turf or solutions that can withstand extreme weather conditions. Our ambition remains the same as it was forty years ago: to give professionals the best tools to keep every turf healthy and playable."
