After the very first overseeder in 1976, Vredo Dodewaard is now up to its fifth generation: DZ5 (DoorZaaier5). The brand new platform forms the basis for newly developed, innovative machines that offer a solution to everyone who sows professionally in the 'fine turf' sector.
Vredo's new DZ5 generation at a stroke provides a "full line" professional (through) seeding program suitable for all types of users. All new techniques were introduced in phases by 2022. Vredo is and remains a leading manufacturer of agricultural and fine-turf machines. All products are developed and produced in-house. Vredo also supplies its products over a carefully selected dealer network, both nationally and internationally. In Belgium, the trusted Agropak from Ham takes care of that.
The Vredo Single Compact is a completely newly developed machine, based on the familiar double-disc principle arranged in a single row of discs which, thanks to the perfect incision, deposits the seed in the soil for optimum germination. Because this series is built lighter and shorter to the tractor, a (light) tractor can now be equipped with a wider machine.
The Super Compact has also been greatly redesigned, with the discs arranged in two rows and thus having a row spacing of only 3.5 cm. Here, too, lighter tractors can be used. This preserves the good soil structure and allows more cost-efficient work. The Super Compact can now also be transported more efficiently because less loading space is required.
With the Fluid Feeder, Vredo has developed an innovative machine to inject liquids, such as nematodes (nematodes) and liquid stimulants, into the root zone by means of the double disc system. Because to successfully control harmful insect larvae (grubs), the nematodes must be applied as close to the larvae as possible. Also, nematodes must not come into contact with UV light. The Fluid Feeder solves this perfectly, making the control very effective. According to experts, up to 70% will be saved this way.
The Vredo Synergy Compact combines the advantages of the double-disc system with a distinctive "Stitch roller. The latter sows with flat tines instead of commonly used conical tips. In the resulting short cuts with a distance of 23 mm, the seed is completely enclosed in the soil. This achieves the same germination results as with seed introduced into the soil with the double discs. The short spacing and dispersion of the seedlings creates a fantastically homogeneous growth pattern.
During the deployment of this machine at several clubs, a number of other advantages emerged strongly. In golf, the Synergy Compact maintains stability on tees and greens and a light germinator like Agrostis/strawgrass germinates well. In soccer, rosettes of plantain are tackled extra hard by the teeth of the Stitch roller and field sedge shows a higher germination rate.
With the Stitch Compact, Vredo has developed a seeder that makes 1600 incisions per m2 with two pendulum suspended Stitch rollers. In the interrupted cuts, the seed is broadly deposited and guided into the soil. Due to the narrow row spacing of 17 mm, an even seeding pattern is formed. This machine is mainly intended for seeding when the recovery capacity of grass is minimal, such as when seeding between races or in loose (rolled) soil in new seeding, among other things.
