Competitive 8-ton E88 is a real first
It's an extra great year for Vangaever, now that the Bobcat importer has not only added the wheelbarrow-replacement mini crawler loader MT100 to its program, but can also showcase a true first: the new crawler excavator E88.
With the addition of the E88 to the R2 series, Bobcat is entering the fray in the popular 8-ton weight class. It does so with a four-cylinder Stage V engine that delivers 48.5 kW (65 hp) of power. In addition, the E88 offers excellent stability, substantial breakout force plus lift capacity and new features and options, such as a tilt clutch function and a fifth hydraulic function. The E88 was designed with the operator in mind. Accordingly, the cab offers plenty of leg and head room, wide doors and a step with anti-slip. In the cab we find a 5- or optional 7-inch touchscreen, which also shows the image of the optional reversing camera. Since the seat adjustment works independently of joysticks and armrest adjustment, it is easy to adjust to the height and weight of the operator. Steering is smooth thanks to a new generation hydraulic control valve.
The E88 can be equipped with a standard or long dipperstick. Up to five hydraulic functions, combined with the award-winning A-SAC technology (that's the advanced and selectable auxiliary hydraulic controls), allow for a wide range of attachments, making this 8-ton crawler excavator an excellent ‘tool carrier.
The brand new mini track loader MT100 is designed as an alternative to heavy work with wheelbarrows, shovels and other hand tools. It has a lifting capacity of 460 kg (485 kg with rear ballast), lifting height of 2057 mm, a tipping load of 1314 kg (1387 kg) and weighs over 1.5 tons itself. At minimum width of 900 mm, it drives through gates, doorways and other narrow passages with ease. With a ground pressure of 36 kPa (5.25 psi), the standard 180 mm-wide track provides good protection for most grass surfaces and pavements. The MT100 as a Wide Track is only 1044 mm wide. The optional 250 mm wide tracks reduce ground pressure to just 30 kPa and make the machine even more stable. Ground clearance is a hefty 205 mm.
