More and more public administrations and contractors are choosing to eschew fossil fuels. This development has not escaped Dutch manufacturer Nimos either.

Nimos' answer is the Posi-Trac, a fully electric and articulated tool carrier. Depending on the user's requirements, the machine can be offered with a lead-acid or lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery pack. In this way, at least a full working day's autonomy can be guaranteed.
Lead-acid batteries are known from the forklift industry, where they have already proven their great value. In addition, these batteries are 97% recyclable, making the Posi-Trac in this composition an extremely environmentally friendly machine.
In turn, a lithium iron phosphate battery is more stable and durable, and has greater autonomy. At the same time, however, it requires a slightly larger investment. This battery is more resistant to varying temperatures and has no problem at all with deep discharges and partial recharges. Moreover, in this configuration the Posi-Trac can be equipped with a battery monitoring system, which provides the user with useful feedback for the best possible use and charging of the machine.
The touchscreen control panel displays the necessary information for optimal loading and use of the machine.
Battery-powered machines can operate almost silently. The dominant noise source is now the implement, rather than the combustion engine. The Nimos Posi-Trac thus produces a maximum of 68 dB(A); the diesel variant 76 dB(A). This means that one diesel-powered implement carrier produces as much noise as five Nimos Posi-Tracs combined. This makes the Posi-Trac the ideal machine for working in city centers and residential areas, without causing unnecessary noise pollution.
Today, six different instruments can be attached to the implement carrier, which are automatically recognized by the machine.
Currently, six implements can be connected to the Nimos Posi-Trac: a weed brush, a salt spreader, a sweeping brush, a hot air scrubber, a snowplow and a rotary mower. All these implements are easily connected by means of a quick-change system. The implements are automatically recognized by the electric implement carrier, and the control software automatically adapts to the coupled implement.
The Posi-Trac is no less competent than an internal combustion engine version. On the contrary, the work results and efficiency of the electric tool carrier are not inferior to a diesel engine version. In addition, the electric tool carrier from Nimos produces no emissions at all.
The Nimos Posi-Trac has a guaranteed autonomy of at least one day.
Despite the higher purchase price, the Posi-Trac is a lot cheaper than a diesel-powered implement carrier in the long run. Indeed, the cost of fuel is often underestimated and can even be reduced by 90% with this electric tool carrier! In addition, an electric power tool carrier requires much less frequent and intensive maintenance due to the absence of a combustion engine.
In general, one can say that the extra cost of investing in an electrically powered Nimos Posi-Trac, with normal intensive use, is recouped after a period of 4 to 5 years. After that, the Posi-Trac is noticeably cheaper and we see the profit, or savings, increase year after year.
