Fixed color and shape

Clay pavers, by the way, never lose their color. In fact, the ravages of time make them even more beautiful over the years. After all, the clinkers are naturally colored in the mass, without dyes. They owe their unchanging shape to the natural properties of clay and to the manufacturing process. They are shaped under pressure, dried, and fired at about 1,100°C. This guarantees extremely high dimensional stability and hardness. Even after extreme frost, clay clinkers do not crack or tear.

Moss and algae have little chance

That same manufacturing process also results in low porosity. Clay clinkers are therefore not very sensitive to moss and algae formation, which makes them the material of choice when it comes to maintenance. With an annual high-pressure cleaning, using any current maintenance product, they look like new every time.

Sustainable on all fronts

The basic raw material of clay clinker, i.e. clay, is renewable. It is completely harmless to humans and the environment and is abundant in our environment. The production process with fire, water and clay is also completely natural. Thanks to their composition and the high-temperature firing process, clay clinkers are resistant to extreme conditions such as frost and high pressure. On average, they last as long as 125 years without noticeable wear and tear. Are they written off? Then they can be easily reused or recycled. Virtually all Wienerberger clay clinkers have been awarded the DUBO seal of approval, proving that they are an environmentally friendly choice. 

Passaqua clay clinkers offer an additional ecological benefit. Their lateral spacers make the joints larger, allowing rainwater to infiltrate into the soil. This reduces the risk of flooding and raises groundwater levels. The 10% grout share allows Passaqua clinkers to officially serve as a water-level pavement.
