The right tools for flawless results

Just as well, because the lawn is crying out for attention. Not only did it lie neglected for a long time during the winter, but the burgeoning soil life is showing in early spring. Think of the many small piles of earthworm droppings scattered across the lawn, making it look bumpy.

Over 40,000 kilometers of lawn edging on English war cemeteries worldwide is maintained with ELIET edge cutters.

Make it easy for robotic mowers

More and more lawns are being mowed by battery-powered robotic mowers. They are built to drive across the lawn as energy-efficiently as possible. By cleaning the lawn thoroughly, you reduce rolling resistance on the small front wheels and thus increase efficiency.

The scarifier will rake off excess thatch and leaf debris from the turf. Mosses that took advantage of the grass's dormancy mode to gain ground are also cut away with this. For a completely flat cutting pattern, you're especially comfortable with the latest generation of scarifiers. They run on the back of a roller and thus tackle the many bumps in the lawn surface immediately, in one motion. This allows robotic mowers to do their work optimally.

Don't give weeds a chance

Dense grass growth keeps weeds out of the lawn, but inevitably some of the grass plants die during the winter. You compensate for the resulting open space by overseeding the lawn. Do this early in spring and with a sophisticated overseeding mixture with fast-germinating cultivars, such as Renova from Advanta. This allows new plantlets to take enough root before the drier summer period arrives.

Another important thing: Don't just sprinkle the seed on the lawn, as this leads to a lot of waste. Use an overseeder. The ELIET DZC450 distinguishes itself by injecting the grass seed into the soil and immediately covering the seedbed. This ensures better germination conditions and thus faster emergence. With the flow rate setting, by the way, you can feel free to be generous: 25 g/m2 is no problem at all.

With an edge trimmer, you'll provide edging with uniform decay and a smooth finish.

Keep it moist

Every lawn, especially one that has just been overseeded, needs water. If it rains, that's a windfall. If not, your customer in particular needs to take control. So you best advise him to have the lawn watered with a swivel sprinkler for one hour at dusk. This is because at night the moisture does not evaporate and thus the water is given plenty of time to penetrate the soil.

Give proper nutrition

To stimulate root growth, apply another phosphorus fertilizer during or immediately after overseeding, such as Compo Agrosil or Vivifos from DCM.

After a few weeks, when the seed lines emerge, the lawn will turn a fresh green. Once it is mowed for the first time, you can give grass growth another boost with a high nitrogen fertilizer (> 15%).

Overseeding with an appropriate seed mixture and an overseeder gives the best results.

Leave your signature

A beautiful lawn really comes into its own when lawn borders are also perfectly trimmed. To create a nice clean line along hedges and flower beds, reshape open borders. This can be done with the spade, but if the running yards add up, you're better off with an edge trimmer. With this device, a blade moving back and forth will cut away a small sod at the edge of the lawn to create a border with uniform slope and smooth finish. Also along patios or stepping stones, this machine easily creates a recess that prevents grass from growing over the pavement.

And does the grass grow over the edges again during the cutting season? Then cut it away quickly and easily with an edge trimmer. Thanks to the sturdy frame on wheels, the ELIET edge cutters offer exceptional maneuverability and precision, and the rotating steel blade ensures an immaculate cut. Just look at the many English war cemeteries at home and abroad. The extremely careful finishing of flower beds around memorial stones - accounting for more than 40,000 kilometers of lawn edging worldwide - is the result of ELIET edge cutters time and again. The finishing touch with which you, as a garden contractor, leave your signature.

So take inspiration from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission Greenkeepers and choose the right tools to take your clients' lawns to the next level. Your client will appreciate the beautiful and low-maintenance results, and you will showcase your professionalism.
