Soft on the environment, hard on the weeds

Weed control in larger plantings is not always obvious. Moreover, when these plantings are on sloping terrain, the landscaper faces an additional problem of erosion. A geotextile solves both problems at once. BioWeedtex geotextile from Insulco efficiently combats weed growth and provides protection against erosion on slopes and embankments. BioWeedtex is a biopolymer and non-woven geotextile formed from thermally bonded PLA fibers . It is made entirely from glucose of plant origin, fully recyclable, compostable and biodegradable.

Excellent features

BioWeedtex mats are strong, easy to cut, flexible and stretchable. With their excellent water and air permeability, they stimulate plant growth. Due to their brown color, the mats integrate harmoniously into the landscape. BioWeedtex will degrade naturally after a minimum period of 4 years. The addition of hemp fibers gives an even more vibrant and natural aspect to the product. BioWeedtex is ideal for application in flowerbeds, along roads and waterways, in car parks and especially in highly healing areas....

Strongly growth-promoting

BioWeedtex combats weed growth, stimulates the success rate, growth and health of your plantings and prevents erosion on sloping sites. With its brown, dark color and thanks to the moisture retained under BioWeedtex mats, a "tropical" greenhouse effect is achieved, allowing plantings to take hold and grow faster. Thanks to its durable nature, no additional maintenance is required. Moreover, due to the UV stability of the mats, additional covering with bark, for example, is unnecessary.

Easy to place

BioWeedtex is unrolled on a flat and cleaned soil, observing a  overlap strip of minimum 20 cm. Anchoring the BioWeedtex is done with iron hooks. After anchoring, simply mark with a Stanley knife and fold open the BioWeedtex where the planting should be. Afterwards, fold the planting hole again and remove the soil residues on the BioWeedtex.

Ecological to the max

BioWeedtex requires up to 80% less fossil energy compared to classic plastics or woven textiles. It also leads to 90% less CO2 emissions compared to classic plastics.  BioWeedtex is converted to compost in 45 days in industrial compost centers (60°C - 95% RLV). The application of BioWeedtex mats also avoids the use of herbicides and pesticides ! Thus, it is not only beneficial for the plantings, it also helps protect our planet and the environment....
