STIHL expands with the new Smart Connector 2 A

The STIHL Smart Connector 2 A takes the STIHL connected system solution for professional users to the next level

STIHL is expanding the complete STIHL connected system with the new Smart Connector 2 A. Unlike the first version, the new Smart Connector 2 A attached directly to a designated place in the machine housing and connected to the machine's electronics. That way you can not only control the operating time, but also the RPM, including time and date display, recording. This information can via Bluetooth be forwarded to an STIHL Connected Box or a mobile device within range. In addition, an internal memory allows the data to be stored temporarily. Any irregularities can also be recorded on the Smart Connector and supplemented with additional information in the STIHL connected App. The STIHL Connected Portal provides the person responsible for the machine fleet with the following information an even better overview of the status and operational capacity of the machines.

The new STIHL Smart Connector 2 A attaches to the provided location in the housing of certain professional STIHL cordless machines and connects to their electronics. Users can query the machine status via a button and via an LED display on the Smart Connector 2 A. In addition, this button allows them to record any malfunctions during operation directly on the machine.

Why STIHL Smart Connector 2 A?

The cloud-based system solution STIHL Connected consists of the STIHL Smart Connector and the Smart Connector 2 A. The STIHL Smart Connector can be mounted on gasoline, electric or battery-powered machines, and the Smart Connector 2 A can be attached in the housing of certain professional STIHL battery-powered machines. They record and store operating hours when the engine is in operation. The Smart Connector 2 A also records engine speed and any malfunctions, including time and date display. This information is transmitted via Bluetooth to the STIHL connected App, which is installed on a smartphone or tablet, or to an STIHL connected Box located within range. This machine data is then sent - if desired along with the geolocation of the smartphone, tablet or connected Box - to the STIHL Cloud as central data storage. Via the STIHL connected Portal and the STIHL connected App, the data is then conveniently and clearly available to users for evaluation and use.
