Those building blocks are STIHL Smart Connectors, STIHL batteries, the STIHL connected Box and the STIHL connected App, with the STIHL connected Portal as the final component. Web-based application

STIHL connected is a secure web-based system that collects machine usage data in the cloud, making it easy to access this data afterwards. 

Everything starts with the installation of a Smart Connector on a machine. Although the full range of functions of the STIHL Smart Connector is only guaranteed on fully supported STIHL machines, you can also use it for other brands. The Smart Connector transmits the collected usage data via bluetooth to a phone or tablet on which the STIHL connected App has been installed. All data is then securely stored in the STIHL cloud and can be accessed by the user in the STIHL connected Portal.
