After all, no one looks forward to dragging branches or plodding through the woods with heavy equipment. Fortunately, that's no longer necessary.
The wood chippers of GTM Professional, all developed and produced by De Wild from Roosendaal, are now well represented among garden contractors. With twelve models, suitable for branch diameters from 5 to a maximum of 12 centimeters, the Dutch family company, represented in Belgium by its subsidiary Belgarde, has solutions for the most common professional applications. The introduction of two new models should further expand the playing field of GTM Chippers this year. And that you can safely
take it literally.
The GTS1300WD and GTS1800WD, that's what it's all about. WD here stands for Wheel Driven. Both models are equipped with a battery-powered undercarriage, making it easy to drive the wood chippers from one location to another. So no more pushing, pulling and plodding around when the terrain is not that great or the car or van cannot get close to the work site. Thanks to the large pneumatic tires, the machines move effortlessly over sand, mud and other challenging surfaces, while the smaller front caster wheels ensure optimum maneuverability. Slopes are defied up to 15° and there is a choice between forward and reverse, as well as two speeds: a slower and a faster gait. Switching is easily done at the handles.
The two batteries provide enough power to cover up to 9.5 kilometers on flat pavement. Enough to take the wood chippers through the day to various trimming locations or to reach more remote spots without strenuous effort.
The added benefit of the battery-powered chassis has not had a significant impact on the size of the machines. Like all other GTM Chippers, the GTS1300WD and GTS1800WD are extremely compact. At just 73 centimeters wide, for example, they allow themselves to be easily guided through garden gates and narrow paths, and they also fit nicely into a van. The ability to drive on slopes of up to 15° also makes the machines all the easier to load onto the trailer or into the van.
As for the shredding itself, the new Wheel Driven models build on GTM Professional's years of expertise. That means they use a highly efficient rotor shredding system with two PRO blades and a wide feed for high working speed, but also feature all of today's safety systems, including an independent emergency stop system. In line with the already known models, the GTS1300WD is suitable for fresh wood with a branch diameter of up to 10 centimeters and the GTS1800WD, equipped with an extra powerful two-cylinder Honda GX630 engine, for fresh wood with a diameter of up to 12 centimeters.
New are the 270° rotatable output and the 100° tilting deflector. They allow the output stream to be perfectly oriented as desired, so that the chips can be caught and collected at the desired location even in rather cramped conditions. On more than one level, in other words, the WD models offer the desired flexibility for demanding trimming tasks.
