Science produces better seeds
High demands are made of grass: it must be easy to maintain and robust, have high treading tolerance and recover quickly. Every year, our customers expect varieties of better quality than the year before. That is why we invest a lot of money and time in our research facilities. About 11% of our 2,200 employees are involved in research. We conduct breeding programmes all over the world to produce varieties that thrive in challenging climates, on difficult soils and for the world's most demanding and critical audiences. This is why our varieties are often chosen for major events such as the European and World Cups.

4turf®: an extra strong sward with tetraploid ryegrass
4turf® is a range of tetraploid ryegrass varieties specially developed for faster establishment, stronger and deeper rooting and higher stress tolerance than diploid ryegrass. 4turf® is more resistant to challenging conditions such as drought, cold, disease and treading.

4salt®: grass varieties more resistant to salt
4salt®-grass mixtures have better salt tolerance than standard grass seed mixtures. This means that the grasses in these mixtures are much more resistant to salinisation of the soil. When a sports field is sprinkled with brackish water, you are still guaranteed a beautiful, green turf. Roadsides (think of road salt) and coastal golf courses also benefit from the increased salt tolerance of the 4salt®-mixtures.

Microclover®: small-leaved clover for a sustainable, green public space or lawn
A dark green and dense turf even in periods of drought, saving nitrogen and crop protection products at the same time. This is possible with Microclover®, a small-leaved clover variety developed by DLF especially for the environmentally conscious sports field and green space managers.

ProNitro: gives every grass seed a quick start
ProNitro® is a nitrogen-coated and hydroactive water management technology that enhances nutrient and water uptake by the seedling. Traditional fertilisation during sowing therefore becomes unnecessary. ProNitro® guarantees faster establishment in all situations, resulting in 34% more plants and 30% more root mass. This contributes to a healthier turf and fewer weeds.
