Innovative fertiliser for evenly growing grass

Unique formula eliminates growth spikes

The ability to turn ideas into concrete realisations is what drives entrepreneurs. When two different businesses increase their common ground like this, there is a first. And we are happy to present it here. Fert in Time Europe and VDB Technics joined forces. With success.

The world of golf and other sports grounds suffers from grass growth peaks. This puts a heavier load on the robots, which can result in reduced mowing capacity. A challenge faced by medium-sized sports clubs in particular. The solution lay in finding a fertiliser that ensures steady growth. Philippe Debougnoux of Fert in Time clarifies, “At the request of Yves Van Den Bosch of VDB Technics, I started looking for a unique fertiliser formula that slows down the transformation of various nitrogen substances in the soil. I ended up with a composition of eight different molecules. An NPK fertiliser that guarantees more even growth, is not a blend, contains no inhibitors or polycarbonate coating and is extremely suitable for sports fields, golf courses and for private projects.”

Healthy soil for optimum results

Traditional fertilisation plans use a lot of nitrogen, and even then under ammonium nitrate form. This results in rapid grass growth that then stops abruptly. The formula devised by Philippe Debougnoux makes the nitrogen present work more slowly. Thus, the growth of the grass is evenly spread throughout the season. This new process is also environmentally friendly. Especially as this type of fertiliser is not polycarbonate-coated or treated with inhibitors. Its action is less dependent on weather conditions, but rather on bacterial activity in the soil. In other words, healthy soil is crucial for optimal results. A practical example can be found in the municipality of Hamont-Achel. Here, football fields were enriched with conventional fertiliser, which caused complaints due to problems with robotic mowers. With the new fertiliser, contractors can now create grass fields that are more beautiful and better, both for sports and private applications.

Fert in Time Europe, headed by Philippe Debougnoux, is an international player in the world of innovative soil nutrients. The company focuses on horticulture, agriculture and recreation. VDB Technics stands out in robotic mowers, ballpickers and a wide range of tools for garden and park maintenance.

Yves and Philippe have known each other for years and communicate more often about what binds their businesses together. They stress that the cooperation between their companies is the key to more satisfied customers. As small players in the market, they can distinguish themselves by offering innovative solutions. They are therefore convinced that this new fertiliser can help many sports clubs and will soon reach the private market. Because with the combination of a more evenly growing grass and an optimally functioning robotic mower, you simply create the perfect ‘pelouse’.
