Under its Belrobotics brand, Yamabiko Europe continues the development of its range of robotic mowers for sports fields. This time it concerns a more compact, lighter and economical model, perfectly suited to high-density sports fields, such as football, rugby and baseball fields. The new Bigmow BM-850 model thus joins its big brothers, with the same mowing efficiency, but with even more ease of use and financial accessibility as its ultimate asset.
The advent of robotic mowers has changed this situation considerably. The sports field is mowed autonomously, without polluting emissions, without human intervention and with the great advantage of leaving a thin layer of nutritious organic matter, called mulch, on the lawn. And with only one running cost: the purchase of the robotic mower. Robotic mowers have thus become a reliable choice for the regular and perfect maintenance of sports fields.
Belrobotics' large Bigmow BM-1050 and BM-2050 models have proven their reliability and efficiency on large football pitches and golf courses day after day, much to the delight of professional grounds and course caretakers. Based on the observation that sports fields of more modest size also deserve the same attention, Belrobotics has focused on developing a more economical model entirely dedicated to compact sports fields: the BM-850 robotic mower.

“The BM-850 model is designed as an excellent price-performance alternative within our range. Fully adapted to high-density football, rugby and baseball fields with more compact dimensions, it offers the same professional mowing quality as its big brothers. Again, it is installed without boundary wire and navigation is ultra-precise thanks to GPS/RTK technology,” says Tanguy Destray, Robotics Marketing Manager at Yamabiko Europe.
Depending on lawn occupancy and watering habits, the BM-850 offers a mowing capacity of up to 30,000 square metres per week. Mowing is done in 42 cm strips and is precise thanks to the two floating mowing heads. The two sonars on the machine continuously scan the surface to detect obstacles along the route to ensure safe progress. Operation is further 100% safe with tilt detection and an integrated emergency stop button on the machine.
The advanced technology on this compact and lightweight robotic mower - only 25 kg! - is also reflected in the simplification of commissioning: the configuration panel on the robotic mower is very user-friendly, while the new dedicated app proves even more intuitive in selecting the various settings remotely via a tablet or smartphone.

With a robotic lawnmower like Belrobotics' new BM-850, CO2 emissions and energy costs can be reduced by up to 10 times compared to a traditional petrol mower. Noise pollution is non-existent and operation is within strict compliance with environmental standards. By depositing a thin layer of organic material, the soil receives a welcome supply of nutrients and thus less fertiliser is needed. The fully autonomous mowing procedure allows staff to be allocated to other maintenance tasks, resulting in significant time and cost savings.
With compact dimensions (870 x 700 x 320 mm) and a weight of just 25 kg, the BM-850 robotic mower can be easily transported thanks to its front handle, while being quickly operational with a charging time of just 55 minutes. And safety is guaranteed thanks to collision detection, lift detection and the integrated emergency stop button. In short, an impeccable, ecological, economical and reliable mower. The BM-850 robotic mower is already available from the brand's dealers.
