Overseeders keep sports turf in top shape

No spot unreachable

Anyone who manages intensively used lawns knows that top quality is no accident. Overseeding is now part of the regular maintenance recipe, but not every location is equally accessible. Vredo therefore offers a range of fineturf overseeding machines for every situation. From wide, open sports fields to narrow strips or corners that you normally have to top up manually. With the arrival of the TurfBuddy, even that is a thing of the past.

“Our machines are developed from practical experience. No overkill, but focused, robust and precise,” says Rutger Hinderks, product specialist at Vredo.

Overseeding: prevention rather than fire-fighting

Atrophied grass, bare areas or an increase in unwanted species: these are recognisable problems on sports fields, playing fields or greens. Regular and correct overseeding helps to stay ahead of those problems. The turf remains fuller, stronger and more resilient. Vredo is known for its double disc principle, in which the seed is neatly laid in a V-shaped cut in the soil, immediately followed by a pressure roller that seals it all together. “That principle produces high germination rates and prevents seed from remaining on the ground level and being washed away, dried up or eaten by birds,” Hinderks explains. “Every kilo counts, especially now that seed is expensive and sowing times are sometimes tight.”

No corner or edge remains untouched

New to the fineturf range is the TurfBuddy - a lightweight, highly manoeuvrable overseeder specially developed for areas where larger machines cannot reach. Think of areas along fences, in corners, under stands, around trees or on transitions with artificial turf. “With the TurfBuddy, we aim at those last 5% of the field where normally nobody comes,” says Hinderks. “But that is precisely where the biggest problems often arise. Those small bare areas create mud patches, weed pressure or erosion.”

The TurfBuddy is surprisingly powerful for its size. With its limited weight, easy operation and direct seed deposition, it can be operated by one person, without the need for a tractor or large equipment. “It is the ideal addition to a fleet of machines. Not a stopgap measure, but a full-fledged solution.”

Compact and complete

For those working with a light compact tractor or maintaining smaller grass areas, the Vredo Single Compact is a logical choice. This machine combines precision engineering with simple operation and fits perfectly with municipal green services, sports clubs or contractors with a wide customer base. Its low dead weight and narrow working width ensure minimum ground pressure and maximum control. So you can keep working perfectly even on wet or sensitive surfaces.

Fast and precise

The Vredo DZ5 SuperCompact targets the user who wants to achieve a perfectly even result in one pass. Thanks to the double disc system and a seeding distance of just 35 mm, a particularly dense turf is created - ideal for areas that are quickly re-tilled. The machine works smoothly with compact tractors and can be easily matched to substrate and seed mixture. “Anyone who wants to work efficiently without sacrificing precision will find a reliable partner in the DZ5,” says Hinderks.

Sustainable thinking is built-in

All Vredo machines are developed and built in the Netherlands, with an eye for quality, reliability and longevity. “We see with our customers that sustainability is not only about the grass, but also about the machines themselves,” says Hinderks. “People want equipment that lasts a long time, can be maintained smoothly and whose parts remain available.” That vision translates into maintenance-friendly designs, clear user manuals and service-oriented follow-up. “Our customers know they can count on soundness, advice and support.”

The right match for any terrain

The strength of Vredo's fineturf range lies in its spread. Whether you are working on an 8,000 m² sports field or an intensively used 400 m² playground - there is a solution that fits. And thanks to the TurfBuddy, even the last edge is now neatly sown in. “We make sure every zone counts,” concludes Rutger Hinderks. “Because whoever makes a difference at the detail level wins on the whole.”
