When it comes to compact equipment, Yanmar has long been at the top. For Yanmar dealers such as CEBEKO, proximity, speed, reliability and quality of service are therefore paramount. The firm Lamote saw the light of day in 1941. What once began as a one-man business has now grown into several firms: Groka CV, Ingelbrecht NV, Lamote BV and Lamote NV. Edward Lamote: “We have been building our name, quality and service for four generations. Today, we work with a permanent unit which, together with our clients, ensures that gas, water and electricity are available. We mainly operate in West and East Flanders, working mainly with Elia, Fluvius, Farys, De Watergroep, AGSO...”
Lamote specialises in installing underground pipes and cables, carrying out minor earthworks, and providing connections for sewer, water, gas and electricity. Within that story, Lamote is on standby 24/7 to repair underground water leaks and carry out sewer repairs. Edward Lamote: “In addition to a skilled and flexible team, we also have the necessary equipment to carry out any project from start to finish. And Yanmar plays a prominent role in this. We currently have ten tyre cranes ranging from 9.5 to 12 tonnes, around 20 mini-excavators and one wheel loader. Our latest purchase was a new B110W déporté, equipped with Engcon tiltrotator.”
The relationship between Lamote, Yanmar and CEBEKO goes way back. Edward Lamote: “CEBEKO contacted my father at the time to buy our first mini-excavators. The good service kept the trust and we are still loyal CEBEKO customers. Nowadays, excavators are generally of good quality, but in terms of service, a distributor can certainly still make a difference. For us as contractors, it is important to keep post-purchase costs to a minimum. Both in terms of excellent equipment and service, I can speak of a very valuable cooperation in this case.”
A great project where Lamote is currently putting its Yanmar fleet to optimum use is the utility works at Schooldreef in Oostkamp. Preparatory works started in November 2022. During the works, utility lines for electricity, gas, drinking water and public lighting were renewed.
Edward Lamote: “The working conditions were not obvious: first weeks with a lot of rain, then a period of severe frost. But we worked with man, power and machinery to complete the first phase of the works before the start of the Christmas holidays.” During the Christmas holidays, two-way traffic was again possible in Schooldreef. The footpaths were temporarily repaired with asphalt, allowing easy access to the homes and shops. The parking spaces are also cleared to the maximum extent, so that they can again be used by visitors. The final phase of utility works started on 9 January.
