New generation of golf carts boosts efficiency in the field

A dream of a golf cart

Six brand new E-Z-GO RXV ELiTE golf carts, supplied by Pols, have recently been driving around at The National Golf Brussels. The carts not only take golfers from hole to hole, but also to the nearby restaurant or hotel. With this investment, the club is consciously opting for more comfort, efficiency and sustainability, unlike the previously rented golf carts.

“Until last year, we rented all our golf carts,” says Tim Allen, head greenkeeper at The National Golf Brussels. “From roughly the beginning of April to the end of October, we had 10 carts at our disposal, four of which we got rid of during the winter period. We did that mainly to save space, because our golf carts are used less in the cold months. Then we only needed the carts, for instance, to transport elderly people who are worse on their feet.” 

From renting to investing

As a head greenkeeper with more than 25 years of experience, Allen knows how important the right equipment is to keep the golf experience at its best. Together with his team of 11 permanent staff, he ensures that the grounds and machinery remain in top condition. In early 2025, one thing became clear: the temporary rental formula no longer met the club's needs.

Therefore, The National Golf Brussels decided to invest in its own golf carts. For the purchase, the club knocked on the door of Pols, a trusted partner. “We had previously worked with Pols for the purchase of a Kioti tractor,” says Allen. “That collaboration went so well that we immediately thought of them for this investment.” The delivery of the E-Z-GO RXV ELiTE golf carts went smoothly and Pols even provided an extra service. “We wanted the new golf carts to be recognisable, so we had our logo put on the muzzle,” Allen explains. “Pols arranged that for us through their regular partner. The golf carts were delivered ready-made, which saved us a huge amount of work. The stickering also makes the new carts look more professional, something we missed enormously with the rented ones.”

Smart technology on the ground

The new golf carts are not only pearls, they are also a lot more user-friendly. “For example, they now have an ELiTE lithium-ion battery,” says Allen. “Those batteries provide a longer range, fast charging times and less maintenance. For our club, that means carts that are always ready when we need them. We lose less time on maintenance which allows us to focus better on our service.” And even on the hilly terrain of The National Golf Brussels, the E-Z-GO RXV ELiTE carts prove their added value. “In the past, things have sometimes almost gone wrong with golf carts rolling down hills,” laughs Allen. “That's no longer a problem with this new investment.”

A sustainable partnership

About the cooperation with Pols, Allen is downright positive and he also sees a lot of possibilities for the future. “We plan to renew all our machinery in the foreseeable future. In doing so, we will definitely look towards Pols. We are extremely happy with the products and services they keep providing us with. And who knows, maybe that will include a few new golf carts.”
