Redexim celebrates 45 years of innovation in turf management: from Verti-Drain to hybrid sports pitches

For more than 40 years, Redexim has been a leading supplier of machinery for the maintenance of sports fields, golf courses and parks. The Dutch family company built its reputation with the Verti-Drain®, an aeration machine that has revolutionised turf management since its introduction in 1980. “The Verti-Drain® quickly became a household name among greenkeepers and grounds managers worldwide,” says Herman de Bree, owner of the company together with his sister Justine. “Today, we offer a full range of machines with which you as a professional can maintain natural and artificial grass in the best possible way.”

What started in the late 1970s with a simple question - how to remove excess water from a sports field more efficiently - grew into an international success story. Meanwhile, Redexim's product range includes more than a hundred different machines. For natural grass, these include aerators, overseeding machines, top dressers, scarifiers, brushes and leaf blowers. For artificial grass, the company developed specific equipment for decompacting, cleaning, regenerating and even testing. For several years, Redexim has also been producing machines for the maintenance of gravel courts.

Owner Herman de Bree emphasises that ease of use and innovation are central to this. “We think along with our customers. For instance, we developed machines that can selectively overseed, saving sports clubs expensive grass seed. We also have solutions for hybrid sports pitches, where natural and artificial grass reinforce each other to improve playing quality.”

Cooperation with strong dealers

Redexim's success relies on a network of loyal dealers. In Belgium and Luxembourg, the company has worked with Firma Thomas for many years. This family business from Merchtem is exclusive importer and offers their customers - from municipal authorities to sports clubs - advice, service and follow-up. “Their expertise and market knowledge are invaluable,” says de Bree. “The team at Firma Thomas literally speaks the customer's language. They ensure that our machines are accompanied by excellent service. Moreover, they provide valuable feedback from the field, which we can use to further refine our products.”

Redexim also chooses strong partners in the Netherlands. Since the end of 2022, Hilaire Van Der Haeghe has been its exclusive distributor. This Antwerp-based family business, with more than 125 years of experience and a strong dealer network, ensures broad coverage in the Netherlands. “The Netherlands is our home field,” says De Bree. “We find it important that customers receive the same service here as elsewhere in the world. Thanks to Van Der Haeghe, we can live up to that. Their enthusiasm and professionalism make them an ideal partner.”

Forward-looking vision

With offices in the US, the UK and Australia, and a dealer network in more than 100 countries, Redexim is today a global player. Yet its approach remains family and customer-oriented. “We continuously invest in new technologies,” concludes de Bree. “Think machines for hybrid lawns or solutions that can withstand extreme weather conditions. Our ambition remains the same as forty years ago: to give professionals the best tools to keep every turf healthy and playable.”
