Comfortable, efficient and safe climbing equipment for every arborist

Whoever says Husqvarna says high-quality battery- and petrol-powered chainsaws, pole saws, saw blades and chains. But did you know that Husqvarna now also offers an extensive range of climbing equipment? With this offer, the Swedish manufacturer takes a major step into the tree care market. We asked Wim van Veldhuizen, Husqvarna Professional Benelux manager, to explain. He is happy to explain the strengths of the tree climbing and tree care equipment.

“Tree care and maintenance is gaining in importance,” says Wim van Veldhuizen. “The number of tree care professionals in Belgium and the Netherlands is increasing every year. Husqvarna experts estimate the number of professionals trained to take care of trees while climbing or from aerial work platforms to be around 1,500 in the Netherlands and at least double that in Belgium.”

“Every arborist is a specialist in examining, protecting and caring for trees in gardens, parks and along roads. For this, he or she needs the right equipment, to get to work safely and avoid damaging a tree or doing as little damage as possible. Solid tree climbing and arborist equipment is undeniably part of this equipment.”

Indispensable lifeline

If you are a tree worker pruning branches at 15 metres and hanging in a climbing line for hours, you need rock-solid and comfortable climbing equipment. “This equipment - from climbing lines, throwing weights and carabiners to climbing belts - is literally a professional's lifeline,” Van Veldhuizen confirms. “Compromises on quality, legal certification requirements and maintenance are out of the question here. That's why Husqvarna is collaborating with renowned climbing equipment expert Teufelberger to complement our high-quality chainsaw range with comfortable, efficient and safe climbing equipment.”

Partnership with Teufelberger

The cooperation with Teufelberger ensures that professional arborists have a wide range of climbing equipment to choose from. Van Veldhuizen lists: “They can go to our dealers for all the necessary tools, such as a climbing harness, climbing lines, friction protection and the so-called multi sling. That is a line that is suitable for multiple applications when climbing trees, such as establishing a temporary second anchor point and repositioning it. And with friction protection, you not only protect tree branches when your climbing line runs over a branch, but also the climbing line itself.”

Fuse lines and carabiners are also part of the new Husqvarna climbing equipment range. “Carabiners come in all shapes, sizes and forms,” says Van Veldhuizen. “We have included some of the most commonly used types of carabiners in our range, so that each customer can put together his or her package according to his or her own taste.”

Extensive product range

Those who use Husqvarna's tree care equipment naturally prefer to do so in the Swedish manufacturer's matching workwear. “Our Husqvarna technical extreme arbor saw trousers are an absolute bestseller,” Van Veldhuizen points out. “Personal protective equipment with the grey-orange colour setting is also very popular with our customers. And with a wide choice of climbing helmets, every arborist can put together a tailor-made solution. Good to know, when it comes to climbing helmets, we have renewed our offering, under the name Husqvarna Spire Vent. We are quite proud of this small, lightweight and ventilated helmet, with a mesh visor. Thanks to a handy clamping system, changing visors is child's play, by the way.”

“To store and transport climbing equipment safely and properly, Husqvarna has included a range of line and equipment bags in its climbing range. These bags are specially designed to measure with the user/tree caretaker. “

Husqvarna is counting on its extensive network of dealers to sell these new climbing equipment. Van Veldhuizen concludes, “At Husqvarna, we are fully committed to a complete service offering for arborists, with new integrated products and solutions. So we will continue to invest in new battery and climbing equipment!”
