New importer for well-known Dutch flail mowers

In February 2023, the import in Belgium of the range of flail mowers of Dutch manufacturer Votex was transferred to Pivabo BV of Kortrijk. Votex is part of Alamo Group The Netherlands, which also includes Herder and Conver. Since Pivabo already distributes these brands and has also been carrying Votex' range of leaf blowers and vacuums for years, it was logical that the import of the flail mowers went to Pivabo.

Votex, which celebrated its 100th anniversary last year, builds a full range of flail mowers suitable for use in roadside, ditch, agriculture and horticulture, in addition to blowers and vacuums. Besides the well-known Jumbo, Jumbo Flex and Maximus side flail mowers, Votex also offers a range of flat flail mowers, of which the R-Max, Landmaster and Roadmaster are the best-known types.  

Good to know is that a number of types are also available in modular form. This means that the cutter box of the respective flail mower can be equipped with a conveyor belt (to prevent clippings from falling into the ditch) or with an auger bucket unit, which also allows the clippings to be vacuumed.

Less well known to Votex are its range of fruit and vineyard flail mowers, which are ideal for shredding prunings up to 10 cm in diameter. Some models have an extremely low build, allowing them to work easily under low-hanging branches.

We would like to highlight a few machines. 

The Jumbo Frontline modular works frontally sideways and can be equipped with an auger bucket; together with a Votex vacuum sweeper, this is the ideal combination for mowing and vacuuming verges in a compact way. 

Another very nice combination is the Votex R-Max in front trailed version and the side flail mower type Maximus suspended at the rear. This is an ideal solution for customers who want to cover a lot of ground quickly. Both the R-Max and the Maximus are very robustly built and have a perfect cut quality. Their large capacity, wide applicability and minimal maintenance make them ideal machines for professional users such as contractors, municipalities and other authorities.

If a customer cannot choose between a flat flail mower or a side flail mower, then the Votex Roadflex is the ideal solution, as it is the machine that can work behind the tractor as well as beside it. The machine has a 250 cm sideshift, allowing it to mow completely outside the width of the tractor. Its short body keeps its centre of gravity close to the tractor's rear axle. A unique feature of the Roadflex is its three-point linkage with hydraulic impact protection. When hitting obstacles, the machine swings backwards, avoiding damage to both the machine and the obstacle.
