Ergonomics at highest level with ECHO hedge trimmers

ECHO, when developing new 56eFORCE professional 56V battery-powered tools, takes the features and performance of the petrol motor variant as a basis to make a switch from petrol to battery as easy as possible for the user.

The new release of the DHC-2200R and DHC-2800R recognises this: very low weight, similar balance, swivel handle, integrated anti-vibration system and similar blade sets. These models are also enhanced with many improvements.

The new models are about 20% lower in weight compared to similar other machines in the market. The DHC-2200R weighs 2.9 kg without the 2.3 Ah battery, including this battery the weight comes to less than 4 kg.

Power is transmitted in an aluminium housing with bearing gears. As a result, there is much less friction loss on the connecting rods thanks to the caged needle roller bearing.

This aluminium housing can be filled with grease via a grease nipple or via a plug opening, without having to dismantle the machine.
To optimise the life of the gears, the direction of rotation of the DC electric motor is reversed with every action on the throttle (trigger), ensuring even load on the gears.

The blades can be easily sharpened without dismantling the blades. The blades can be moved slowly via an opening in the aluminium gear housing, in which an M6 bolt should be fitted.

Two models are available:

• DHC-2200R with a blade of 600 mm (effective cutting length: 562 mm) and a weight of 2.9 kg (without battery).
• DHC-2800R with 750 mm blade (effective cutting length: 714 mm) and weighing 3.1 kg (without battery)

Both hedge trimmers can be set to a speed for coarse trimming of up to 3,200 cuts per minute, and for “shaving” a hedge a cutting speed of 4,600 min^-1 select.

The hedge trimmers have an IPX4 protection class and can therefore be used during wet conditions.

The knife set is laser-cut, sharpened on 3 sides and has a nose guard.

Also, the blades have a new patent which ensures that if the blades block unplanned, the risk of breaking teeth is greatly reduced. The system absorbs shocks in a metal “bridge” that has been integrated into the blade set.

Thanks to the rotatable handle in 5 positions (-90°, -45°, 0°, +45°, +90°), the two selectable blade speeds and the low weight make these machines very pleasant to use. All features are present to make it possible to use these professional machines for long periods and continuously with the least possible strain on the user.
