A battery multi-tool that will blow away the gasoline version

You see them in the van of more and more landscapers. And that is not surprising, because a multi-tool is ideal for professionals in landscaping and green maintenance. With the arrival of the ECHO DPAS-2600 battery-operated multi-tool, EuroGarden is betting heavily on this market: "This machine is going to replace the gasoline variant, we know that for sure," says Johan Teeuwen, category manager and responsible for the introduction in the Benelux.

Many landscapers use a multi-tool because they have one drive unit and can use multiple attachments on the coupling/drive shaft. This is not only convenient, it is also efficient in terms of cost. In the case of the ECHO DPAS-2600, there are as many as seven: a grass trimmer/forest mower , a hedge trimmer, a pole saw, a cultivator (tiller), an edge trimmer, a sweeping brush and a leaf blower. And all powered by 56 volts of battery power. 

Of course it is possible to control the speed of the machine. After all, a brush works at a different speed than a chainsaw. Therefore, three values can be set, so you can always choose the right speed for your job or circumstances. At only 2.4 kilograms, the weight, especially in combination with the shoulder strap, is very low.  

Powerful performance

The power output of the DPAS-2600 is comparable to a 25 cm3 gasoline variant. With that, there is really no reason for gardeners to choose such a loud combustion engine anymore. The 56-volt batteries provide just as much power. You can work up to more than two and a half hours on a full charge. 

There are two types of batteries available; a 2.5 Ah and 5 Ah variant. The more Ah a battery has, the longer you can work with it. But then the weight also increases. "If you want to trim hedges, you want the lightest possible machine, and just then the 2.5 Ah battery is a handy option," says Johan Teeuwen.

This new ECHO multi-tool belongs to the X-series machines. All machines in this series are designed for the highest imaginable performance and working time.
