Unizo East Flanders yesterday named Huurland "SME of the Year."
"This recognition means a lot to us," says Pascal Ameloot. Together with his sisters Isabelle and Sofie, he is one of the three business managers. They took over the helm in 2007 from their father, who founded Huurland in 1973. "Next year we will exist 50 years. In those 50 years, we have grown from a small hardware store to a network with 12 branches in East and West Flanders and Flemish Brabant. We offer rental solutions to construction, renovation, installation, finishing, construction and maintenance; which contribute to proud craftsmanship."
"We are especially committed to the sharing economy and sustainability. The electrification of the rental fleet ensures a better ecological footprint. Renting equipment when you need it provides a lot of advantages: you always have well-maintained machines, your machine fleet does not stand idle unnecessarily, you save time and space as a customer, and overall there are fewer machines to produce."
"This sustainability is also reflected in our personnel policy: our staff members exude our corporate values and are our greatest ambassadors. Personal growth and development is at the heart of a collaborative journey. We invest in our teams, offering them a structure where they can be independent and entrepreneurial."
"This award is not for us, but for the entire Huurland team. Together we have been through this great journey and we are still building on our entrepreneurial story every day."
On December 6, the Unizo Top Seminar will take place in Antwerp. That is when Unizo will announce the Flemish SME of the Year. Together with the other winners from the various provinces, Huurland will also compete for the title.
