New Renson site 'breathes' outdoors

Unique ‘NOA outdoor living’ inspiration park icing on the cake

In November an impressive inspiration park will open its doors at the brand-new Renson ‘outdoor site’ in Kruisem/Nazareth under the name ‘NOA outdoor living’. Together with more than thirty other brands in high-end outdoor living, Renson will present twelve realistic gardens spread over 30,000 m2. These will immerse you in the ultimate in ‘outdoor living’. This marks the final phase of the new Renson site.

On a technical level, this new site is one that ‘breathes’ nature, literally and figuratively. Because behind its impressive facade hides a ‘zero energy impact’ project, self-sufficient in water and energy consumption, with the most sustainable techniques for healthy and comfortable living and working: ‘Creating Healthy Spaces’ in practice.

Zero energy impact

The impressive building along the E17 highway - a design by Binst Architects - is conceived as a ‘garden pavilion XXL. The 380-meter-long facade is clad with natural elements, such as greenery and tree trunks. By the way, no industrial wastewater from this production site goes into sewers or surface water. As much as 95% of the wastewater from the paint shop is recovered via an evaporator for rinsing the profiles after the pre-treatment process. The energy for that evaporator is co-produced via the 6,700 solar panels on the roof.

But this production site also owes its negligible carbon footprint to the fact that (even in the paint shop) the residual heat from the baking oven is reused to preheat the pretreatment water. In this way, hardly any gas is used to heat these baths. In turn, the intelligent ‘Aorta intermediate buffer warehouse’ ensures color optimization in the paint line. Fewer color changes not only means better efficiency, but also less rinsing and powder coating.

Futureproof Renson production site

In this new outdoor production site, all Renson outdoor products for worldwide export will now be manufactured. From terrace coverings, carports and all associated accessories such as lighting, sliding panels, planters, benches and other design garden elements: the new production site can handle a capacity three times greater than what could previously be produced in ‘outdoor living’ in Waregem.

Of course, there is even more hidden behind the impressive facade along the freeway. In addition to production, you will also find a Renson test center and training facilities, all designed by Embo Architects. Binst Architects took care of offices, NOA outdoor living experience center and ‘landmark’.

“We distinguish ourselves with standardization in customization,” explains Dieter Heyman (general manager Renson Outdoor). “Based on the client's wishes, a Renson distributor from anywhere in the world forwards the unique configuration of a patio cover for production in this factory with one click of the mouse. This custom production is digitally controlled here from start to finish in order to make it as standardized as possible. This was the only way we could make this investment in our home region. At the same time, we also create added value for the people who work here, because it is simply not easy to find employees in this region.”

Outdoor living is on the rise

With NOA outdoor living, the final phase of the new Renson site has now been completed. Because outdoor living is ‘in’, many people worldwide want to ‘get back to nature’ and the boundaries between indoors and outdoors are increasingly blurred.

Being able to live comfortably outdoors is more than ever on the agenda of many and the need for additional production and experience space became great. With the brand new outdoor site, Renson perfectly meets those needs in the market.

NOA outdoor living thus aims to inspire and orient visitors first and foremost. This is not just a sales outlet or a classic showroom, but a place to give everyone a chance to broaden their horizons and get ideas in a relaxed way. Do projects take concrete shape here? Then the interested visitor can contact one of the more than thirty partners to help develop their own ‘outdoor living space’ in practice.
