Healthy city trees thanks to recycled plastic

"The energy used to produce plastics is lowest when you reuse recycled materials. That's why we always focus heavily on using recycled plastics and our products are fully circular. In fact, the plastics we use have been recycled multiple times."

Over the years, plastic has gained a negative association in society. While plastic is actually very durable, provided you handle it the right way. And that is exactly the issue in which there is still much room for improvement. 

"The material an sich is not the culprit, it is the way people use it. Or rather, not using it, but just throwing it away. Plastic can be reused over and over again and has a very long lifespan," Van Oss explains. "Certain plastic products in our range, such as root screens TRG and RootBlock, even have a lifespan of at least a hundred years."

Producer, supplier and knowledge partner

GreenMax is not only the supplier of its products, but also their designer and producer. Van Oss: "The used plastics come in and are ground into granules, or plastic granulate. From this recycled granulate, our products are made, such as root screens, watering and aeration pipes, tree bunkers and more. Together with our team of green and infrastructure specialists, we continue to develop and expand our product range. We try to share the knowledge and experience we have gained over the years as much as possible. In doing so, we hope to work together to create green, livable cities that are future-proof."
