DCM certified as carbon neutral company

This includes DCM's maximum commitment to energy efficiency to reduce its CO₂-emissions, as well as that the CO₂-residual emissions are offset through the support of certified climate protection projects. This is done in cooperation with CO2logic, Belgian expert in carbon footprinting and achieving CO2 neutrality.

Efforts for people and nature

DCM has several sustainability initiatives. For example, our raw materials are mainly derived from residual streams from the food industry and we are continuously increasing the use of recycled plastic in our packaging. We also invest in R&D to develop product innovations with maximum care for nature and we are very conscious of the use of water and energy in our production. We have held zero discharge status since 2011, which means that we do not discharge wastewater from the production process. Finally, we use 100% green electricity.

Henceforth certified as CO₂-neutral company

CO2logic grants the CO2 Neutral® label to companies that calculate, reduce and offset their climate impact. The CO2 Neutral® label is also validated by Vinçotte, an independent and international certification body. Not only is the CO₂-emissions in production, but from the entire business operation including emissions from company vehicles and general office infrastructure, among others.

The CO2 Neutral® label ensures that companies that receive it actively calculate, reduce and offset their local and global climate impact in order to reduce CO₂ become neutral. "DCM is now the holder of this label and thus wishes to take responsibility for the real impact of its CO₂-emissions, rather than passing them on to society and future generations," says Jeroen Hulsmans of CO2Logic.
