More than ever the international trade fair for the green industry
The 32nd edition of trade fair GrootGroenPlus, which took place from October 5 to 7 in Zundert, was well attended. Visitors from 27 countries walked past the 235 participants, who were divided over three routes, together accounting for more than a kilometer. And outside, the technology area also filled up completely.
This year's theme, Grounded, was well reflected in the program elements and the decoration of the booths, among other things. In addition, GGP is the beginning of a new season. At GrootGroenPlus, professionals meet in an informal and convivial manner and important information is exchanged. In short, a must for everyone involved in the tree cultivation sector in Europe.
Several prizes and medals were awarded again this year. Ten medals were awarded as part of the regular novelty judging; eight silver and two bronze. In addition, a Green Grand Prix was held for the first time, in which plants were awarded an A, B or C rating based on their breeding performance through judging. Two KVBC awards were also presented for the field inspections. Furthermore, winners were designated for the stand awards: the 'Zunderts Groen Imago Prijs', the 'Jac Lodders Award' and the 'Jan van Dongen Award'.
For the first time this year, there were more visitors on Friday than on Wednesday. Overall, 27 percent of visitors were from abroad. Visitors came from 27 countries, especially England, Spain, Poland, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Denmark and France.
Among the visitors this year were many manufacturers, traders and people from the technology industry. In addition, the proportion of Government and Garden Centers increased from previous years. Moreover, more than half of the visitors indicated that they were business owners, followed by a large group of buyers.
This year's trade fair could once again count on much appreciation. In terms of content, but also in terms of timing. GGP made it clear once again that a trade fair at the beginning of the season by and for tree growers remains important. The optimistic feeling that graces tree growers is nicely expressed here. And it is and remains a pleasant fair, with pleasant contacts between exhibitors and their customers, but also among themselves.
Conveniently, participants' offers will remain available in the fair app for a few more weeks. You can also still find it on the website, next to the shopping cart under 'current offer'. In addition, the routes and award ceremonies have been fully filmed and can be watched back. Finally, the extended participant profiles will remain accessible via the website and app through December. Handy to use as a phone and information booklet.
